I'm Kyle, a 20-year-old Lighting Engineer from Northamptonshire who's completely obsessed with anything that lights up a stage. Moving lights, lasers, strobes, haze, smoke, pixels... if it flashes, moves or fills a room with atmosphere, I'm interested. Don't get me wrong though... I do love a good sound system too!

I've been lucky enough to work across some of Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes' biggest nightlife venues, creating and operating shows for everything from intimate acoustic performances and solo artists through to full live bands and headline Drum & Bass events. Along the way I've had the pleasure of being Lighting Designer for artists including Andy C, Chunky Bizzle, Dynamite MC, along with many other incredible performers across the Drum & Bass, House, Trance and EDM scene.

"Lighting has gone from being a childhood obsession to becoming my career. Alongside running my own Audio Visual and Wireless Communications business, nothing beats standing behind a lighting desk with my hands on the faders. Give me a laser, a room full of haze, a few strobe buttons and an exciter effect and I'm in my element. There's something addictive about taking great music and turning it into a show people won't forget."

Like a lot of people, I had a plan... then COVID happened.

I left school (which, honestly, I wasn't the biggest fan of—apart from anything to do with the technical side of productions!) just as the events industry came to a complete standstill. No gigs, no festivals, no clubs... but it only made me more determined to get into the industry I'd always dreamed of working in.

My journey actually started way before that. I first started DJing when I was 8 years old, had my first DMX lighting rig by around the age of 12, and was already programming shows in ChamSys MagicQ on my PC before I was even old enough to drive. Fast forward a few years and I'm now programming and operating professionally on Avolites consoles, with experience on grandMA systems and other industry-standard platforms.

I'm always learning, always experimenting and always looking for the next trick to make a show bigger, brighter and more memorable.

Looking ahead, my goal by the end of 2026 is to continue expanding my venue work while partnering with some of the UK's biggest venues, production companies and leading lighting brands to keep pushing my career in the world of Lighting Design even further.
